Good grief how time flies! Davis is 18 months, and a few days, and moving and groovin! Here are his updates:
1. He is wearing a 24mth or 2T and size 6 shoe
2. He weighs 26 lbs 12 oz (75%-90%) and is 33" (75%)
3. Davis naps once a day for about 2 hours.
4. He can say: Ro (rock, to rock in a chair), Du (Duke), Dada, Moma, Baba (banana), bape (grape), bla (that's as close as I can get to spelling his noise for water), ma (more), dada (different than Dad and is All done), dodu (doughnut), doodie (cookie), bees (please), tan too (thank you), ba (for a nutrigrain bar), waff (waffle), Hi, Bye
5. He is walking, running, climbing everywhere! If a door is open he wants to be outside.
6. Since his 15 month checkup he has had ear tubes put in and hasn't had any more ear infections!
7. He still has a dairy sensitivity, sadly.
Let's see, it's been what seems to have been a year but probably 3 months since I last wrote. A lot has happened. Let's start with Davis' first kiss. It happened at VBS. Her name is Greta Mae Masterson and they were in the same class. I went to pick Davis up the first day after teaching Jackson's class and Davis' teacher, Caroline, informed me that Greta Mae and Davis were snuggle buddies. Apparently they had found each other towards the end of the day and snuggled up when they were both getting tired. Cute, I know. Things got serious towards the end of the week. I went to pick Davis up and Caroline was laughing and starts telling me that Davis was lying on the floor minding his own business when Greta Mae came and sat beside him and procedes to plant one on him! I'm talking mouth to mouth! Now keep in mind at this age most babies don't kiss with their mouths closed, so it was a sweet, wet baby kiss. He is cute, so I don't blame her. Greta Mae's mom, Kristy, and I have laughed and said we would both be ok with this couple!
Second, Jackson is on his 3rd, yes 3rd night of wearing underwear at night with no accidents!! I thought potty training would never end! We finally got poop down, or out...whatever. Once that was tackled he took the night by himself! He his growing up right before my eyes! I guess I should be sad, but nothing in me is sad about this part being over. Good bye diapers! (At least for Jackson)
Third, as Jackson is nearing 4 he is really getting to the funny age. I was sitting on the couch last week eating lunch while the boys were supposed to be napping. Then this happened:
Jackson opened his door, in a whisper "What are you eating?"
me (whisper), "tomatoes"
Jackson, looking very confused (whisper), "WHY are you EATING a VEGETABLE?!"
me, after laughing, (whisper) "Because they're good."
Jackson, looking like I just blew his mind, (whisper), "But WHY are you EATING a VEGETABLE?!"
me, realizing there's no way to win this, "You'll understand later, go back to bed"
