Jackson loves to play outside. I mean I don't even know if love is a strong enough word. It's great because I can sit on the porch and just watch him go wild. Today he met what he hoped would be a new friend. While he was killing ants on the driveway with a plastic fork something caught his eye. On the other side of the yard was a squirrel, stopped dead in his tracks just staring at Jackson. It was almost like the squirrel had heard of Jackson from his buddies and was hoping to escape the wrath of the human wrecking ball. No such luck, he had been seen. Jackson looked at me with great excitement and then looked at the squirrel and said "Hi!". Now if you don't know when Jackson says hi he does it with quite the southern accent and he does expect you to stop and say hi back. So, when this didn't happen Jackson took off toward the squirrel. The squirrel, being a squirrel, bolted across the yard to some rocks and up into a tree. The whole time Jackson was chasing him he was yelling "Hi!, Hi!". It was so funny! I think we've been watching too much Curious George and think animals can talk. Sorry Jackson, maybe next time.
