He's here!

Our family has officially gone from 3 to 4!  Even though we knew the time would eventually come, it hit us about 2 weeks ago that it would be Jackson's last weekend to be an only child.  We made a big deal about it and hit all of his favorite spots.  Jackson loved it and Drew and I really enjoyed spending quality time with our only son.  We started with his favorite breakfast, then off to lunch at the Varsity.  Yummy!  After the Varsity it was time to party at Catch Air.  Catch Air is one of those jump, inflatable places that seems to be more geared to toddlers instead of older kids.  Jackson loves it!  They have a dance party about every hour and boy did Jackson get down!

It had come time for Davis.  I was induced last Friday, January 11.  Luckily we didn't have to check in until 9 am, so we both got a full nights sleep before the craziness started.  By the time we checked in and did all the paperwork they didn't start anything until 10.  We all knew that my body doesn't respond to contractions, but who knew even with pitocin my body wouldn't move much?  It took hours to even get to 4cm!  The OB was even a little stunned about what to do next.  Luckily we dodged having a c-section!  I went from 4 cm to 10 cm very quickly.  In fact most of our parents were out to eat and we had to call them back!  After only 9 minutes of pushing Davis made his arrival.  Davis Elijah was born at 8:26pm, 8 lbs. 6 oz, 20.75".  He is just perfect!

Jackson has been such a good big brother already.  Jackson can't quite say Davis, but he does call him "D D".  It's so sweet.  When we put Davis in his crib Jackson tells him "nigh nigh" (night night).  Jackson has even been giving him love by kissing him on the head and loves to help unswaddle him.  They're going to have so much fun together!
